Baker O&P Services
We engineer and fabricate devices to meet the clinical needs of the people we serve, and we custom-tailor our service for the rigorous standards of each individual patient we serve.
PROSTHETICS
Our specialty resides in applying the latest prosthetic technologies to the exacting requirements of each of our valued patients. Baker provides superior prosthetic services by putting your needs and desires first. We listen intently during the early design phases and initial fittings to insure our expertise is applied efficiently and directly to crafting your unique device. A prime focus of our prosthetics practice centers around Microprocessor-Controlled legs¬-- such as the C-Leg programmable knee and the ProPrio Electronic Ankle-- and Myoelectric arms, such as the Dynamic Elbow and the new i-Limb Hand featuring independently-moving fingers and dubbed, "the world's first fully-articulating bionic hand."
Lower Extremity
Lower Estremity prosthetic limbs provide the foundation for proficient standing, walking, and occasionally running. The sockets are each custom-designed to individual needs for comfort and function. We fit every amputation level and every activity level, with the components and services that most closely match an individual's rehabilitation goals. We stay apprised of the ever-growing body of knowledge and components available to help improve the abilities and to increase the options available to amputees.
Upper Extremity
Upper Extremity prosthetic limbs are custom-crafted by our Upper Extremity Specialists. Because prosthetic arms are made in smaller ratios than legs, few clinicians across the country are versed in the many demanding and distinct design aspects required to fit arms. Baker's Upper Extremity Specialists are experienced in all stages of design and fitting of prosthetic arms for any amputation level. We are accredited to fit the newest electronic devices, including the Dynamic Elbow, which automatically balances the forearm, and the new i-LIMB hand with independently powered fingers.
Cosmetic Finishing
Cosmetic finishing services are offered when users of upper or lower extremity devices desire the shape and feel of an anatomical limb. From simple, color-matched protective covers to high-end, realistic silicone restorations, we can create the custom look you are seeking.
In addition to a tone-matched "skin," we offer you the option of incorporating your favorite team's logo, t-shirt design, or any image you desire that is printed on fabric. We customize the finish of your device to match your personality.
Expedited Services
Expedited services are offered when a shortened time frame is required. These services are often used for clients who come to North Texas from out of town and the required details can be arranged ahead of time.
ORTHOTICS
Baker provides superior orthotic service by first listening to your needs and then carefully assessing every relevant factor. Our holistic approach is applied to each of our patients individually. In addition to many years of experience fitting conventional and traditional orthotic interventions, we continually apply newly acquired concepts to our practices. Newer additions include as stance-control knee joints, ultra-light-weight component options and low-profile designs techniques from Space-Age materials. Baker practitioners are now certified in the application and fitting of the WalkAide myoelectric orthotic device that treats foot drop without using bulky plastics.
Hospital Specialists
Hospital specialists are available for those occasions when patients are confined to hospitals. We have established relationships with many area hospitals and residential facilities who call on us to fit devices there. We are meeting the needs of our patients across the Metroplex.
We are also on-call after business hours and over weekends and holidays for urgent, hospital-based orthotic and prosthetic intervention. When needed, hospital staff members notify us and your needs are directed to the on-call clinician.
