BCP Group (“BCP”) is pleased to announce its recently completed partnership with Baker Orthotics & Prosthetics (“Baker O&P”), a leading provider of orthotics and prosthetics in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX market since 1946. As part of the partnership, BCP has acquired ownership of Baker O&P and will provide operational support and practice resources to support Baker O&P’s continued growth. Gordon Stevens, CPO, will continue to serve as President of Baker O&P and become an equity partner in BCP. The practice will continue to operate as Baker Orthotics & Prosthetics, a name that patients and referring providers in North Texas have relied on for high-quality patient care for more than 60 years.
Matt Bulow, CP, CEO of Bulow Orthotic & Prosthetic Solutions and BCP Group Founding Partner, commented, “Supporting great patient care will always be the focus of BCP Group and what is most important to me, and I am very proud to associate with Gordon and his high quality team. They are a great addition to our group of high-quality clinical partners.”
Gordon Stevens, CPO, President of Baker O&P said, “While Baker has experienced growth and been doing well financially over the past several years, I started considering strategic alternatives for the practice several years ago due to the continually changing healthcare environment. Our partnership with BCP Group provides our organization with what was important to me. First, I wanted a partner that was committed to prioritizing patient care and was willing to give clinicians the autonomy they need to provide great care. Second, the entire team at Baker is committed and dedicated to the success of the practice. I wanted a partner that would provide Baker’s team, including me, with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Third, I wanted a partner to bring resources to the table from an operational and infrastructure standpoint as well as have the capital capabilities to help take Baker to the next level. And finally, from a personal perspective, I wanted to be able to realize some value while maintaining a meaningful ownership interest and leadership position to continue to grow the organization. I was able to accomplish all these objectives with this partnership.”
According to Grant Rutledge, President of BCP Group, there was interest in the practice not only for its clinical culture, but also its growth potential. “Gordon and the Baker team have done a tremendous job setting up for growth and are now well positioned to expand across the North Texas Market. BCP Group continues to make investments in resources that can help Baker achieve its growth goals.”
Financing for the transaction was provided by BCP Group’s existing investors, which include BCP Group management and partners as well as principals from Frist Capital in Nashville, TN, among others.
