On September 11, 2013, Kyle’s was riding his motorcycle when instantly, his life changed forever. After his hospital stay, he continued his therapy in Nashville and received his first prosthesis in January 2014. As a result of his determination and the support of those around him, he reached his goals of walking again and the ability to return to work.

On September 11, 2013, Kyle’s was riding his motorcycle when instantly, his life changed forever. He sustained multiple injuries when his motorcycle crashed with a fire hydrant, including a left above knee amputation. After his hospital stay, he continued his therapy in Nashville and received his first prosthesis in January 2014. As a result of his determination and the support of those around him, he reached his goals of walking again and the ability to return to work.

Three short years later, he works as a full time baggage handler for Southwest Airlines in Dallas in which he is frequently lifting bags over 75 pounds as well as navigating stairs and ramps. Southwest Airlines regularly acknowledges his significant contributions to the company with his fun-loving attitude and dedication to his job. He enjoys going out of his was to brighten his coworkers’ days with his light-hearted jokes.

Outside of work, he is involved hunting, fishing, hiking and regular exercise. He is also actively participating on a sled hockey team. Kyle also enjoys spending time with his family and friends. It is clear that with his positive attitude, Kyle doesn’t let much slow him down.
